can i use a hand mixer to color my fondat with food coloring?

I want to cover a cake with blue fondat. Can I use a hand mixer to mix the blue food coloring into my ready made white fondat?

Not a good idea. You will burn the motor. Better to do it with a kitchen aid, use the hook attachment. Otherwise, you will have to do it by hand.
